Rockledge, FL - Friday, November 8th - Imagine Believe Realize LLC (IBR) is pleased to announce it was awarded the U.S. Census Bureau Geographic Update Partnership Software 4 (GUPSIV) - Geographic Platform support contract.
The Geographic Update Partnership Software IV provides both desktop installation of a computer-based system and a web-based version of the software used to load, edit, and display geospatial data, as well as generate output files that the Geography Division (GEO) will then use to update the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB).
The GUPS web-based system is a cloud-native container-based scalable application that will meet federal security regulations and maintain secure authentication and secure submission functionality. Through GUPS, the GEO can more efficiently review, and process standardized digital returns, and digital processing of updates is more accurate and precise than the manual digitizing necessary for processing paper map returns.
The digital modernization of these systems will provide greater data accuracy and seamless scalability into the future. This contract supports IBR's goals of continuing to serve as a trusted advisor to the U.S. Census Bureau in support of mission-critical systems. IBR will manage and implement system and application upgrades and security support to ensure that the GUPS IV system operates securely and will implement new enhancements for the upcoming 2026 and 2028 Census Test(s), Special Censuses, and 2030 Census research and testing phase while supporting the U.S. Census Bureau's Plan for Developing 2030 Census.
'When IBR started in 2014, GUPS was one of our first contracts with US Census Bureau and we have been involved from the beginning with the GUPS program,' said David Chafin, IBR's Chief Executive Officer. 'It has been exciting to participate in the GUPS modernization to a web-based system over the last 10 years and we are ready to support the continued GUPS transformation into the future.'
IBR offers a tailored approach to system transformation and modernization, leveraging its deep expertise in cloud migration to help the Census' systems evolve and optimize its operations. IBR will guide Census through a seamless transition from legacy systems to cutting-edge, cloud-native architectures. This modernization will enable Census to unlock the full potential of GUPS IV, delivering enhanced agility, scalability, and cost-efficiency. IBR's focus on automation and innovation ensures that Census can rapidly adapt to changing needs while improving security and operational resilience. The result is a forward-looking, high-performance environment that fosters continuous growth and flexibility.
