Veteran Workforce Modernization Leader Brings 25+ Years of Defense HR Innovation to IBR's Growing Portfolio.
ROCKLEDGE, FL - June 22, 2026 - IBR today announced the appointment of Kris Saling as Director of Workforce Transformation, bringing over 25 years of distinguished U.S. Army service and a proven track record in workforce modernization, people analytics, and AI-enabled transformation to the firm's expanding human capital practice.
Saling joins IBR following a career marked by large-scale, enterprise-level impact across the Army's most complex workforce challenges. As Chief Analytics Officer for the Army Talent Management Task Force, she built and led data analytics capabilities that empowered senior leaders to make evidence-based workforce decisions at a scale rivaling Amazon and Walmart. As Chief Technology Advisor for the Army's Manpower & Reserve Affairs, she directed innovation initiatives focused on the future of workforce development, including talent management, recruiting transformation, and the practical adoption of AI and emerging technologies across the force.
She has spent her career at the intersection of human performance and intelligent systems, exactly the capability our Department of War leaders need right now.
As defense organizations face mounting pressure to modernize workforce systems while maintaining mission readiness, Saling's experience offers a direct answer. She has a track record of helping leaders bridge the gap between emerging technologies and the human systems they're meant to support, not by replacing people with automation, but by equipping organizations to make both work better together.
At IBR, she will apply that expertise directly, both to the firm itself as client zero and to the firm's Department of War portfolio, including workforce modernization efforts supporting the Navy and Marine Corps. Her focus will span the full hire-to-retire spectrum: from predictive workforce analytics and talent pipeline development to AI adoption strategy and organizational change management.
One of Saling's most distinctive contributions has been her commitment to data and AI literacy and workforce readiness at the leadership level. Recognizing that technology adoption fails when leaders lack the foundational knowledge to ask the right questions, she developed and delivered practical AI education programs designed specifically for organizational leaders. These programs demystify machine learning, people analytics, agentic and generative AI, and data-driven decision-making in ways that translate directly to mission outcomes.
'Adopting AI is not just a technology problem; it's a leadership and culture problem,' Saling said. 'The organizations that succeed are the ones where leaders understand enough about AI to ask hard questions, hold their teams accountable, and make smart decisions about where and how to apply it. That's what I've worked to build throughout my career, and it's what I'm excited to bring to IBR and its partners.'
